But now that I am thoroughly convinced that it is the best thing ever for your website or brand I decided to start off my first serious blog post by writing about “why blog for your business?”
Let begin with blogging! Blogging is the most important and valuable tool which engages your with your audience and ultimately gives them confidence on you. Trust me it will be the best decision you would have made for your business or brand. It is hard work, but it is worth every penny and every second you out into it.

The facts speak for themselves, marketing data clearly shows that blogging is a critical piece of the inbound marketing and directly correlates to better business results. But merely blogging won’t dramatically transform your marketing. Your blog has to be well – optimised and promoted, and, most of all, rich with content. Let’s dive straight into how you can do this effectively.
How to Optimize Your Blog Posts
1. Social Media Button
By adding social media buttons your blog is easily accessible to people who want to instantly share them (like share on facebook, tweet about it on twitter and share it on linkedIn). By adding a social media button you are indirectly encouraging your readers to share your content and expand your reach in their personal networks.
Recommendation: Download Sumome plugin on your wordpress website and you will not regret it.
2. Sidebar Calls-to-Action
Apart from the individual blog posts, your sidebar can help you generate leads in itself. Just have a well designed visually stimulating a call to action and you are on your way to generating more leads than before. Did you know? that the top of our blog and the sidebar are the prime areas in your blog that generate leads than any other place, that is the reason we see a lot of CTA banners and buttons on the top area and the sidebar
3. Formatting is your friend
When it comes to blogging you need to break everything into chunks of content or information. Online reading is not like a physical book. While reading online the reader will have to see subheadings, bullet points and bold text that is visually pleasing to their eyes.
4. Eye-catching & optimizing titles:
Titles are the most important aspects of your blog post, even though there are a lot of other elements that make up a successful blog post, one of the best way to grab the attention of your readers and make them click on your post is by having an awesome TITLE.
How-to’s: People love How-To’s in the title! People love to read something that would help solve the problem and gives them a sense that they are learning something new.
Be Clear & Direct: “12 Ways to read like an expert ”is an example blog title that tells readers exactly what they’re going to get. Do they want to learn how to conduct better Google searches? then they’re going to read this post.
Drive Urgency: Another type of successful blog title is the one that creates a sense of urgency or importance. You want people to feel enticed to read a post when they first see the title.
How not to: Just like people love to know how to do something, they also love knowing how not to do something wrong. people like reassurance that they’re not doing something wrong. so use your blog to give them advice on how to fix common problems!
5. Compelling Images:
Always have images that make your reader want to click and read through your blog. Always include images in your blog post it is the best way to keep your readers visually inclined to your post. Images, infographics or a graphic is any day better than plain old boring text. Recommendation: Use Canva for your graphic! I use it all the time.
6. In-Text call to actions:
Once you have spent a decent amount of time on your blog optimization and have a good readership, you can then make attempts at converting those visitors into leads. A welldesigned blog post should have in-text links to other resources.
7. Entertain your readers:
Just because your blog has a ton of information doesn’t mean it needs to be boring! If you are writing on canvas paper, have images of your staff making them or tell a fun story of any incident that happened when you were working on the canvas paper.
How to Promote Your Blog Posts
1. Run a contest:
This would attract a reader immediately! Come up with an entry system, like they need to like you on social media or tweet about it! Do giveaways along with other bloggers and you will for sure expand your blog reach and help you gain new visitors.
2. Find bloggers: This is a great way to reach out your blog to others in your niche. Get in touch with influential bloggers and attract them by mentioning them in your blogs and on social media. Your big goal here is to create an opportunity for those bloggers to share your posts on their blogs or social media. You can directly reach out to bloggers and ask them to collaborate with you by asking them to write guest posts or just interviewing each other or share each other’s content on social media.
3. Website banners:
I cannot emphasize the power of a call to action (CTA), they drive traffic to your blog and help you gain more leads. Try to place these call to actions in different places on your website like to home page and the about us page.
4. Social media sharing:
Social media sharing is definitely an important dimension in the marketing of your content. Just about every blog should have a social sharing buttons to make it as easy as possible for visitors to share your content.
5. Email Signatures:
Your blog most likely covers a range of topics, all tailored to your marketing persona. so whenever you send an email, you can link to the awesome resources located on your blog. An email signature can drive a surprisingly high amount of traffic to your blog.
6. Blog directories:
Blog directories present another opportunity for promoting your blog legally. There are hundreds of free blog directories out there. You’ll want to make sure to submit your blog to at least the top 25-50 directories available. this can help you get more traffic and help with rankings as well because it creates inbound links to your blog.
7. Events and Presentations:
If you are at an event and giving a presentation on a specific topic, you can refer the audience to your blog for further information. You can use a Qr code to allow people to quickly and easily subscribe to your blog.
8. Create a video:
Create a short video to describe what your blog does and what its mission is. Then, publish the video on YouTube and allow a different audience to find it. You can also create a controversial or funny video that links to the blog.
I’ve shown you how you can optimise and promote your blog. Well, What do you think? Have you seen these benefits within your business? Which one has made the most impact in your business? Also, what would you add to this list?
