Facebook is an excellent place to increase your business potential, get more sales, and provide customer support. However, increasing fan engagement is essential in order to make it beneficial to your business. Here are some different (and easy) ways to increase your Facebook fan engagement.
Post Share-Worthy Images
Facebook relies a lot on media, including images and video. Not only do you want an eye-catching image posted to your Facebook account, but make it something others want to share. Whether it is a funny meme or an inspirational quote, it can help you get a lot more fan engagement. Images related to your business, such as new product lines or back office pictures are also a great way to get more engagement on your Facebook page.
Ask Questions Directly
If you find that you aren’t getting a lot of activity from people who follow your page, aside from the occasional “Like” or “Share,” it might be time to use some other tactics. One good option is to ask them questions directly. When posting a picture or status update, ask your fans a question. For example, if you are sharing a picture of a new product you have made for the fall, ask your fans about their favorite fall scents, what events they like in October, or if they will be going trick-or-treating. These are all relevant to the season you are posting about and gets your fans involved in your page.
Pay Tribute to Your Customers
Giving the occasional shout-out to your customers is another great way to increase fan engagement on Facebook. Try posting or sharing content from your fans, instead of just your own business or page. You can choose relevant fans, such as other businesses in the same industry as you. Share their Facebook page, other social media account, or their website. You can also find fans that are not business owners, but have interesting posts to bump on your page.
Ask for Unique Photo Captions
Asking for your fans to caption your photos is not necessarily a new concept, but it is gaining more popularity. People love to create captions for photos, as it allows them to be creative. Post a photo that is particularly amusing or entertaining and ask people to caption them. For example, if you were trying to get a photo of your dog with one of your products, and it turned out silly, post that photo and ask for captions. You can also incorporate a contest into this, but it isn’t necessary.
Host a Contest or Giveaway
People love getting free stuff, so you are sure to get some better engagement when you throw a contest. Not only will you current fans suddenly become more active on your Facebook page, but you will get the attention of other people who don’t follow you. Create a contest or giveaway that offers one or multiple people prizes by the end of it. It can be as simple as having people comment on a Facebook post, or giving people extra entries by following you on other social media sites.
