What Your Dentist Website Should Have
Every dentist should have a website, as it acts as their online advertisement and answers many of their patient’s questions. Search engine optimization (SEO) through the website helps others find that practice and may lead new patients to choosing them over others in the same area. Additionally, the dentist website provides people with everything they need to know about the practice, including insurance they accept, services they provide and the dentist’s background.
Include as much information as you can about the dental practice. This includes a summary of what they provide their patients, any info about the location and area, if they offer oral sedation and specialties that patients might be looking for, the dental practice environment and what insurance carriers they accept.
Dentist and Staff Information
A separate page with information about dentist and staff should also be included. The most information will be about dentists who work for the practice, including specialists only working their part time, such as a pediatric dentist or orthodontist. However, there should also be some info about the dental hygienist, dental assistants and administrative staff.
Specialties and Services
New patients will be most interested to know exactly what services and specialties are offered. For example, many family dentists also offer other specialties, like root canal treatments, veneers and other cosmetic procedures, orthodontics and special sedation. This is important to anyone looking for a dentist that provides more than just traditional dental procedures.
This is optional, but some dental practices have special technology. They might use new digital x-ray machines for better x-rays, or have an intraoral camera for diagnosing issues. If they provide crowns, the dentist might also use one-visit crown technology which created the crown the same day by using a CAD/CAM system and 3D x-rays. Some patients might also be looking for a dentist that uses air abrasion to make cleaning decay from their teeth easier, so that is also good to include in this section.
Informative Videos and Text
Not only does the website for the dentist provide information about their practice and services, but helps inform visitors. If they have any video or text education, by all means include that on the website. Someone might be searching the Internet for before and after photos of veneers or want to see a video of how implants are performed. If the dentist has this kind of media, it can really improve their page rank by getting more visitors.
Finally, have a section with the dentist and practice contact info. If the dentist answers emergency calls 24 hours a day, make sure that is listed on the contact site. There should also be a phone number, email address, physical address and a map with basic directions or information about their building if it might be difficult to find.
By including these different pages and information on the dentist website, you improve the success of their site and help them get more patients.
