Celebrating Local and Regional Artists including Marilyn Wendling and the Mellencamp Family
October 15, 2012…..Nashville, TN – Christ the King School and the Belmont Community will be showcasing local and regional artists during their fifth annual Art Show and Sale. The Art Show runs October 19 – October 21 and is free and open to the public.
This year’s featured artist is Marilyn Wendling. Marilyn’s zest for life and exuberance are evident in her Alla Prima works in oil. Her command of light and color harmony takes place using a very limited palette. In 2009, Marilyn had the distinguished honor of having one of her paintings placed into the “Permanent Collection” of the Tennessee State Museum and on display in the Tennessee Governor’s Residence.
As part of the Belmont Community since 1937, Christ the King is looking forward to another year of celebrating artists with the community of neighbors and visitors. This year’s show will have a special addition with a Spotlight Artist Booth showcasing generations of the Mellencamp family’s artwork. Works of art by Marilyn Mellencamp, John Mellencamp and Cameron Bentley will be on display.
Please join us for the Preview Party on Friday, October 19, from 6-9 pm, Saturday 10:30 am – 6:30 pm and Sunday 9:30 am – 2 pm. Christ the King School is located at 3105 Belmont Blvd., Nashville, TN 37212. For additional information and a complete list of artists, please visit our web site at www.ctkart.com.
