How To Get Twitter Followers

Twitter, Twitter, Twitter…seems this is all we hear about these days.  What is twitter?

Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to the author’s subscribers who are known as followers.

I must admit, I am fairly new to Twitter.  I just recently started Tweeting due to curiosity.  I did not understand that all the buzz was about.  So, I make it a point to start figuring this Tweeting / Twitter concept out.

Currently, I am trying to determine how to get more “Followers”. What do find that works best for you?  What steps do you take to build your Twitter Follower list?

• Do you advertise your twitter account?
• Do you treat your twitter profile like a free standing website?
• How often do you tweet?
• etc…
